Get ready for a night of funk, soul, and R&B when Tomi Jenkins, formerly of CAMEO, takes the stage at The Velvet Note Jazz club in Atlanta.
Jenkins is a founding member of CAMEO, one of the most successful funk bands of all time. He has been a part of the group since its inception in 1974, and he has helped to write and produce some of their biggest hits, including “Candy,” “Word Up,” and “Single Life.”
In recent years, Jenkins has been pursuing his solo career. He has released two albums, “A Life to Remember” and “Soul Survivor,” and he has toured extensively. His solo work is a mix of funk, soul, and R&B, and it features his signature smooth vocals and catchy melodies.
Jenkins’ upcoming shows at The Velvet Note are sure to be a party. He will be performing all of his solo hits, as well as some of CAMEO’s biggest classics. He will also be joined by a full band, so expect to dance the night away.

Reggie Hines is an ASCAP Award Winning and Grammy nominated songwriter, producer, and international recording artist. He is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, piano, bass, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), and of course, the saxophone. His soulful and expressive sound has provided him the opportunity to write and perform music for a diverse roster of artists including Chaka Khan, Angie Stone, Regina Belle, and Stevie Wonder.
Hines grew up in the South Bronx of New York, where he was exposed to a diverse spectrum of musical flavorings from a very early age. His passion for music has taken him on a life long journey that began with attending an esteemed performing arts high school in Manhattan. As Hines’ musical gifting began to unfold, he joined the U.S. Army band where he received some of his most rigorous musical instruction. During his training, Hines embraced studying the multicultural styles that he so elegantly weaves into his signature sound today.
The Taylor Roberts Jazz Quartet is a high-energy ensemble that brings together the talents of some of the finest jazz musicians in the Southeast. The quartet features Taylor Roberts on guitar, Reggie Hines on saxophone, Mark Simon on bass, and Josh Smith on drums.
