Sweet Soul Sister features covers songs by Aretha Franklin, Sting, Julie London, John Mayer and more. Fans like to label the band’s performance style as “dark soul”, but their knack for coloring outside the lines makes them hard to pigeonhole. “We like to take familiar songs and make them our own”, says lead vocalist Dominique Brittain. “And we always have to include originals. Those songs have the deepest meaning for us.”
