A native of Detroit, Michigan; devoted husband and grandfather; Jazz/R&B vocalist Dee Hibbert brings an all-encompassing repertoire of music to venues in the Midwest and the South. Daryl Hibbert, known as “Dee” to friends and fans, is a silky tenor with a chameleon-like versatility, changing his style and rendition: A spray of classic Soul, with power and range to start things off, then morphing into best loved jazz favorites…whispered, but smooth and mellow; and finally, and buffing us off with that signature R&B flavor.
A retired corporate manager, and college instructor, Dee has a long list of historical performances as both an energetic vocalist, and founder of his former band “Dee Hibbert & Company;” who opened for Earth, Wind & Fire at Common Ground Music Festival, 2014. He began his professional musical journey with Michigan- based jazz band: 496 West, sharing the stage with the likes of Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, Bob Baldwin and Norman Brown, just to name a few. He has sung at celebrity weddings, and has even performed the National Anthem at a baseball game or two.
