Grammy-winning jazz pianist Marcus Roberts winds down his holiday weekend with a once-in-a-lifetime solo performance on Sunday night at The Velvet Note. This is your opportunity to begin the evening as a fan and end up as a friend of one of the greatest jazz pianists in the world.
Marcus Roberts grew up in Jacksonville, FL and studied music at Florida State University under the tutelage of Leonidus Lipovetsky. Roberts is well known for his stylistic interpretations using stride piano as well as his distinctive “walking bassline” accompaniment.
Mr. Roberts will perform on a stunning, new Grotrian Charis 208 Studio–known as one of the world’s best pianos–provided by PianoWorks of Duluth, GA.
