FRIDAY AND SATURDAY SHOWTIMES: 7:30PM AND 9:30PM. Some call her “The Greatest Voice on Planet Earth”. For many years, others have simply referred to her as “The Voice”. Music industry superstars agree:
Michael McDonald – “One of the greatest living singers we have.“
Lyle Lovett – “You are a legend.“
Julio Iglesias – “One of the greatest singers in the world.“
They are all talking about the amazing Wendy Moten.
Wendy was born and raised in the gospel/soul/R&B mecca of Memphis, Tennessee. In fact she has a coveted brass note on the Beale Street Walk of Fame alongside the likes of Elvis Presley, BB King, W.C. Handy, Johnny Cash, and contemporary jazz great Kirk Whalum. For the last 25 years, Wendy has lived in “Music City”, Nashville, Tennessee and made an all-star name for herself there as well.
Reflecting those diverse musical environments, Wendy has developed a passion for great songs across multiple genres – from Soul to R&B to Jazz to Country to Swing; from Aretha to Whitney to Linda Rondstadt to Tammy Wynette. Wendy loves them all and has made their songs uniquely and soulfully her own.
Her remarkable journey began with her 1992 self-titled R&B album featuring the Top 5 hit Come In Out Of The Rain. In 1998 she was the featured voice on saxophonist Kirk Whalum’s All I Do single which became a staple on contemporary jazz playlists to this day.
Wendy spent 15 years touring the world with Julio Iglesias as his duet partner. She was a harmony singer for Faith Hill & Tim McGraw (2005-2018), Martina McBride (2014-2016), and Vince Gill (2016-2022).
In 2020 Wendy was invited to join the legendary Grammy Award winning Time Jumpers, a western swing band featuring Nashville’s finest studio musicians playing sold out Monday nights at 3rd & Lindsley. She also released her own solo album I’ve Got You Covered.
Then in Fall 2021, “The Voice “herself became a contestant for Season 21 of the NBC prime time TV show The Voice.
The four celebrity judges’ reactions to her first appearance were a mixture of joy, shock, and superlatives:
Kelly Clarkson – You are what this show is all about. A voice so powerful, so transcendent, that you move people to another level.
Ariana Grande – I don’t know where to start. I am shook right now. Your tone. Your choices. I don’t know that I’ve heard anyone sing like that in my life.
John Legend – Your mastery of your instrument is beyond perfect. You have so much light in your voice, you really are phenomenal and we are lucky to have you.

Wendy took the weekly competition and the national viewing audience by storm
until tragedy struck. She fell over a monitor while exiting the stage. She appeared on The Finals with two broken arms… and finished the show as Runner-Up, an outcome debated across the U.S.
After recovering from her injuries and buoyed by her new-found fame, appeared regularly with the Time Jumpers, and continued her appearances at the Grand Ole Opry.
Wendy also released the single As which found regular airplay on contemporary jazz radio stations. She has made two sold out appearances at Birdland Jazz Club in New York City.
Don’t miss this opportunity to welcome this phenomenal National Treasure to Atlanta for a very special night at The Velvet Note!
