Madoca™ Kawahara a.k.a. MADOCA™[pronounced “ma du ka”] is a world class pianist/ keyboardist and composer. Her style consists of contemporary/ classic jazz, fusion, soul, funk, Latin and Salsa blended together to provide sustenance for your mind and soul. Madoca began studying piano/organ at the age of 7 and graduated the Senzoku Music University in Kawasaki Japan with a major in Composition and Piano. She had a 3-day live auditioned before she got her scholarship programs at the Nemu Music and she studied jazz piano, jazz theory, ensemble, composition, arrangement etc. under educators from Berklee

College of Music. Madoca got her first taste of show business in 1993 when touring with Japanese national bands and also performing on NHK TV in Tokyo/ Osaka. She has performed with several American Jazz/R&B bands in Tokyo/ Yokohama, Yokosuka (included navy base, NCO clubs etc).

In 1994, Madoca moved to Hong Kong where she performed/ world tour (Australia, France, United Kingdom, United States of America etc.) with various Chinese major artists including PolyGram recording artist Jacky Chueng, Sandy Lam etc. Her selection, “I Don’t Cry Anymore” was the winner Song Writer’s Quest, a competition organized by the Composer and Authors Society of Hong Kong.

She has worked with numerous American recording artists including Eric Marienthal, Paul Young, All 4 One and many Asian pop stars before she came to the U.S. “Music is my life” Madoca says. She performs with passion, playing with deep feeling and expression. Her image and objectives are classy & sexy. In 1998, Madoca™ Kawahara met Guitar player / Singer, The Prince Project, when he was touring in Hong Kong with Jason Bryant from the S.O.S. band. Since that day, they’ve traveled the world as a group.

In 2003, Madoca™ Kawahara moved to Atlanta, Georgia to form her band called MADOCA™ & Company has been performing throughout the Atlanta area including Centennial Olympic Park, The Piedmont Park, The Grant Park, Infinite Energy Arena, Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center, Fulton County South West Arts Cente, Cherokee Country Club, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, The Fox Theater, and many more.
In 2004, Madoca™ Kawahara has selected and performed in the Showcase of Atlantis Music Conference. in 2004 She has opened for Chris Botti. In 2005 Madoca™ Kawahara opened shows for Rick Braun, Jonathan Butler and Richard Elliott,India Arie, Jean carne, Pamela Williams and many more. She has performed at the Michelob GOT JAZZ Concert, the 2005 Lincoln Vibe Smooth Jazz Concert Series presented by Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ FM, opened for Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena, the Suwanee Smooth Jazz 107.5 Concert Series, the Centennial Olympic Park Atlanta GA for Jazz 91.9 Wednesday Wind Down Concert Series, Japan Fest at the Gwinnett Center. In 2009, Madoca headlined the 32nd Atlanta Jazz Festival at the The Grant Park at the AARON’s Main Stage Atlanta GA, the Callanwolde’s Jazz on the Lawn- Jazz concert series, the Kappa Liau at Vines Mansion, Jazz in the Garden series, headlined for Jazz On The Lawn at the Christ Our Hope Christ Our Catholic Church Lithonia GA, Big Birthday Bash for Dekalb County’s Commissioner Stan Watson’s at the Beautiful Panola Slopes, Japan-America Society of Georgia in 2016. Madoca also performed at Joe Sample Tribute Concert and Herbie Hancock Tribute Concert Presented by FL Productions at Historic Marietta Square in 2017.

Madoca became a GRAMMY voting member in 2018.
