A Legacy of Musical Greatness
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Dwayne and Dwight Bosman were destined for the stage. Their love for music was nurtured by listening to the sounds of giants like Earl “Fatha” Hines, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington. Even more impressively, their own father, Lloyd Smith, was an alto saxophonist and flute player who worked with famous St. Louis bandleaders like Fate Marable, Charles Creath, and Dewey Jackson, eventually playing alongside legends like Earl Hines and Duke Ellington on the national scene.
The twins learned their infectious enthusiasm and stage presence directly from their father, and they bring that same vibrant energy to every single performance.
World-Class Woodwinds and Eclectic Sounds
Both Florida A&M University music scholars, Dwayne and Dwight are master composers, arrangers, and educators. While their primary instruments are the tenor and alto saxophone, they play a breathtaking array of woodwinds, including the soprano sax, clarinets, and flutes.
Their unique style effortlessly blends jazz, rhythm and blues, funk, and gospel, earning them national and international acclaim. Over their illustrious career, they have shared the stage with entertainment legends like Freddie Cole, Branford Marsalis, Fontella Bass, Roy Ayers, David Peaston, and Lester Bowie.
