In this performance, Sasha celebrates the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim (born January 25, 1927, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil—died December 8, 1994, New York, New York, U.S.) was a Brazilian songwriter, composer, and arranger who transformed the extroverted rhythms of the Brazilian samba into an intimate music, the bossa nova (“new trend”), which became internationally popular in the 1960s.
