John C. O’Leary III is a pianist, composer and neuroscientist whose 2022 album The Sundering explores his dual cultural heritage—born in Mexico to a Mexican mother and American father, and relocating to the U.S. at age 12. The project features collaborations with luminaries such as Shaun Martin and Dick Hyman, and uses evocative compositions to navigate themes of identity, memory and belonging.
