Friday, March 12th: GRAMMY-NOMINATED Smooth Jazz Guitarist Sheldon Ferguson

Sheldon Ferguson is a Grammy-nominated guitarist, international recording artist and multi-platinum selling producer. Originally from Columbia, South Carolina, Sheldon currently calls Atlanta, Georgia home. His music has sold in over 70 countries and made it into the Top 10 on the Smooth Jazz Global Listener Chart. Sheldon has also produced music for Travis Scott, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne and many more. Sheldon played guitar on the soundtrack for Oprah Winfrey’s Greenleaf and appeared on the show during seasons 2 and 3.
Sheldon Ferguson’s latest album is entitled Love Languages. This project features guest appearances from 10 incredible R&B vocalists as well as two saxophone features from the sensational Allan Knighton and Walter Beasley. All songs were written and produced by Sheldon Ferguson himself, making it an album that you simply must hear. Love Languages is available now on iTunes, Amazon and all streaming platforms.
As a fifteen-year-old, 10th grader at Spring Valley High School, Sheldon started his participation with The Auntie Karen Foundation at the annual Young Entrepreneurs Conference. Even back then, he was passionate about developing his musical skills. He started taking guitar lessons with Chris Richards of Pecknel Music and had many sessions with recording artist Terence Young.
After high school, he earned his Bachelors in Professional Music with an emphasis in Performance and Production at Berklee College of Music. In 2011, Sheldon released his first smooth jazz album, titled The Brighter Side, at the age of seventeen.
Sheldon’s music has been sold in over forty different countries and can be heard on jazz stations all over the world. The international radio broadcast, Talking Smooth Jazz, considers him a part of the new generation of smooth jazz. In January 2018, Sheldon released his second album, Soul Searching, after a six-year hiatus from releasing music. Soul Searching charted at #7 on the Smooth Jazz Global Listener Chart and #39 on the Top 50 Albums Chart. The album documents a journey of self-discovery, and Sheldon hopes to inspire others with its message.
Outside of his work as a jazz artist, Sheldon Ferguson is Grammy-Nominated studio guitarist whose sound is highly sought after. Sheldon produced the hit song, Don’t Check On Me by Chris Brown and Justin Bieber, with over 80 million streams on Spotify. He also recorded guitar on Travis Scott’s Billboard Hot 100 hit, Yosemite, which appears on the Double Platinum album, Astroworld. This song is credited for bringing guitar back into hip-hop, as mentioned in the Rolling Stone article titled, Hip-Hop’s Secret Weapon: Acoustic Guitar. He was also featured on the IMAGE award-winning soundtrack for Oprah Winfrey’s Greenleaf, as well as appearing on the show in Seasons 2 and 3. Sheldon has performed on stage with notable artists, including Ledisi, Aloe Blacc, Bilal, Angie Stone, Bazzi, and many others. Whether on stage on in the studio, Sheldon Ferguson’s goal is to create musical moments that will last forever.
