Contemporary Jazz Guitarist Eric Essix and THE MOVE

The MOVE Trio is a lean, agile and inventive trio that is as fun to watch as it is to hear led by veteran guitarist/recording artist Eric Essix. Eric has a total of 23 solo releases; has performed extensively with Alex Bugnon, Ronnie Laws, Peabo Bryson and Jeff Lorber and is the youngest member of the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame. “The basic idea from the start with MOVE”, Eric says, “was to get as much music out of this small package as possible every time we step onstage or into the studio.”

The heartbeat of the group is drummer, James “PJ” Spraggins. PJ is a composer, producer and bandleader in his own right with a total of three releases as a solo artist including a brand new CD entitled Time To Heal on which he also plays drums and keyboards. He has performed and/or recorded with , Roy Ayers, Kirk Whalum, and Frank McComb.

MOVE’s Grammy nominated producer and multi-instrumentalist, Kelvin Wooten is the soul of MOVE playing both electric bass guitar and keyboards onstage.  His ability to play complex multiple parts on the keyboards – in real time –  amazes audiences everywhere the group performs. His extraordinary work in the studio as a songwriter and producer has led to Grammy nominations with Anthony Hamilton and Mary J. Blige and he has had major releases with Jill Scott, Raphael Saadiq, The Isley Brothers, Ginuwine, Eric Benet, Joe, Babyface and many more.
