Che Marshall is an accomplished musician who is known far-and-wide as one of the best drummers in the area, having toured with Roberta Flack, Wycliffe Gordon, and many others.
His musical journey started with the violin in first grade, and even switched to the saxophone in 4th grade. Every week, he would play the pots-and-pans drums while his mom cleaned the house on Saturdays.
While moving around every few years with his parents, Che spent his summers with the grandparents in Chattanooga, GA, where he furthered his musical and artistic talent in their Pentecostal church.
Che briefly attended Atlanta’s Morris Brown College, after which he completed his undergrad at Georgia State and Florida State for graduate school.
This performance will feature Kenny Banks Jr. (piano), Akeem Marable (saxophone), Craig Shaw (bass), Trevor Wolford (guitar), and Berkeley-educated vocalist Teresa Woodside.
Showtimes: 7:30pm and 9:30pm Admission: $27.
