SUMMARY:Opus 23
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Born from a musical bond forged two decades ago\, Opus 23 officially came to life in 2023—but its roots stretch back to 2003\, when Brent Bailey and Ron Finney first crossed paths in the vibrant DC music scene. Their connection began at Opus 88 in Northern Virginia\, where Brent sat in with saxophonist Marcus Mitchell\, an artist managed by Ron. Though life took them to different cities—Brent to Atlanta in 2008\, Ron following years later in 2018 —their shared musical vision remained. When Ron reached out to Brent with the idea of forming a band\, the two knew it had to reflect their eclectic tastes and deep love for instrumental artistry. They brought together a powerhouse lineup. \n\n\n\nAs a five-piece instrumental ensemble\, Opus 23 made their debut at Red Velvet Bistro (now T’s Brunch Bar) in Douglasville\, GA\, quickly capturing hearts at events like Taste of Douglasville.Their six-month residency at the iconic Paschal’s in Atlanta helped refine their sound and build a devoted following. Over the next two years\, Opus 23 became a sought-after name for private performances\, while experimenting with vocal collaborations. The turning point came when Rae Raquel joined the group—her soulful voice and magnetic presence made her an instant fit. She debuted with the band at Hard Rock Cafe Atlanta\, marking a new chapter in their evolution. Performances at the MS Society\, Tesserae\, Jazz Under the Stars\, and St James Live cemented the group’s presence in and around town. In 2025\, Opus 23 welcomed Levi as their new drummer\, following several standout performances as a substitute. His official debut at T’s Brunch Bar brought the band full circle\, returning to the venue where their journey began. With our latest addition of saxophonist Steve Arnold who brings an enormous talent to the group.Now\, with a dynamic lineup (Ron Finney\, Brent Bailey\, Brandon Voss\, Rae Raquel Jones \,Levi Baker and Steve Arnold) and a sound that continues to evolve\, Opus 23 is ready to share their story\, their soul\, and their sound with us.

SUMMARY:Saturday\, July 18th: Surgical Oncologist and Violin Virtuoso Barry Roseman
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. By day\, he’s a respected local cancer surgeon. By night\, he’s a jazz-playing violinist. And rarely do the two lives meet. \n\n\n\n“A lot of my patients are surprised when they find out\, and a lot of the people I play jazz with are surprised when they learn I’m a doctor\,” Roseman has told the media.  “It’s an interesting dynamic. I feel lucky that I have a job – I call it my ‘day gig’ sometimes – that allows me to do both of these things. \n\n\n\n“I have the best of both worlds. I don’t have the pressure of having to make a living doing this music\, and considering that it doesn’t pay much of anything to perform jazz\, that’s a good thing.” \n\n\n\nWhat it lacks in monetary reward\, however\, it more than makes up for artistically and spiritually. In fact\, given his background\, it’s hard to imagine Roseman going through life without music as a part of it in some form or fashion.
