SUMMARY:Friday\, March 29th: American Tune-- The Music of Paul Simon\, Jim Croce and James Taylor
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7PM AND 9PM. For Good Friday\, we take you back to some of the best music of our lifetime. American Tune: Simon\, Croce and Taylor takes you on a magical trip back to the 1970s to experience the timeless music of these three prolific singer-songwriters. Relive the intimate storytelling\, intricate chord changes and breathtaking melodies of these gifted artists – their work building on and transcending the more traditional folk-influenced acoustic music of the previous decade.  \n\n\n\nTom Glynn is a Nashville resident and child of the seventies\, who spent countless hours learning every guitar and piano lick by his musical heroes as he wore out the grooves on their records. He went on to become an award-winning singer-songwriter himself and is thrilled to be paying homage to these musical giants. Tom is a John Lennon Songwriting Contest winner and a Boston Music Award nominee for Outstanding Songwriter. Several of his songs have been chosen by NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association) for their coveted Top 40 honor\, and his music has been featured on ABC\, Fox\, Lifetime and Showtime.  \n\n\n\nTom uses a unique semi-standard guitar tuning that stays true to the artists’ signature fingerstyles while adding a deep\, lower register to the instrument\, essentially accompanying himself on bass to add a warmth and fullness for the audience.

SUMMARY:Saturday\, March 23rd: PJ Spraggins!
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7:30 & 9:30. PJ has dreamed of performing internationally as well as touring for a national artist. 2023 has proven to be the year of dreams coming true as he is currently touring with two-time Grammy Award winning R&B vocalist Peabo Bryson whose first stop is the 2023 Soul Train Cruise. Prior to this\, PJ was showcasing his talents at the Bahrain Jazz Festival with Jeff Bradshaw. When he’s not touring or producing beautifully-crafted music\, he provides the backbeat for a host of highly acclaimed artists from jazz guitarist Eric Essix to\, most recently\, the dynamic\, chart-topping jazz flutist Kim Scott \n\n\n\nListeners clamoring for more of Spraggins pushed “Nocturnal Drive\,” from his 2006 album “Light of Day” to more than 8 million streams across all platforms followed by “Pure Logic” (2012) album with over three-million streams on YouTube. Many followers and subscribers\, unaware of his nearly two-decades of musical contributions\, think his timeless pieces are new\, however\, they soon discover he has a history of producing sounds that both encourage and inspire listeners of all demographics. An independent artist who finds new ways to connect his music to an ever-expanding audience\, PJ also merges it on social media with his very own scenic drone footage.  \n\n\n\nCoupled with his albums\, tours and various projects\, PJ has written with startling candor about inspiration\, faith and healing\, which is without a doubt a compliment to “Stick It Out” as it exemplifies his determination to overcome personal challenges. “I want to send a positive message to everyone that’s going to listen to it. I’ve gained so much confidence from writing this album and that’s what I want people to take away.” \n\n\n\nNow\, poised for bigger and better opportunities ahead\, James “PJ” Spraggins’ tireless energy\, positivity and drive permeates this work with an enduring\, immersive quality that refuses to give in or settle for anything less than to ‘Stick It Out.

SUMMARY:Friday\, March 29th: American Tune-  The Music of Paul Simon\, Jim Croce and James Taylor
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7PM & 9PM.

SUMMARY:Sunday\, February 25th: Seven Days--A Tribute to The Music of Sting & The Police
DESCRIPTION:SHOWTIMES: 7:00PM AND 9:00PM. \n\n\n\nSeven Days – a seven-piece tribute to the music of Sting and The Police – is the brainchild of lead vocalist/bassist Doug Busbee (Agent Cooper\, Guardians of the Jukebox\, Yacht Rock Schooner). When Busbee’s Atlanta music colleagues suddenly found their calendars open due to the pandemic\, he saw an opportunity to assemble a supergroup with his friends and pay tribute to one of his deepest influences. \n\n\n\nThe group debuted in May 2020 at the Velvet Note; performing to just two internet broadcast cameras and with each member standing/sitting six feet apart (at least that’s what the ad claimed). \n\n\n\nSays Busbee\, “Many working musicians consider playing in Sting’s band the best gig in the world. So in the absence of our usual wedding/bar/corporate party gigs\, we decided to create the best gig in the world for ourselves”. \n\n\n\nRounded out by guitarist Scott Patton (Sugarland)\, vocalist Dominique Brittain (Sweet Soul Sister) and keyboardist Mike Bielenberg (Yacht Rock Revue\, Yacht Rock Schooner\, U.S. Army Band)\, the band loves to surprise audiences with deep cuts such as “Russians”\, “Saint Augustine in Hell” and\, of course\, “Seven Days”. \n\n\n\nNaturally\, the band delivers the big hits like “Every Breath You Take”\, “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” and “Fragile”. And given the unique circumstances in which the band was formed\, “Don’t Stand So Close To Me” is a set list perennial.

SUMMARY:Friday and Saturday\, February 16th & 17th: The Nat Adderley\, Jr. Quartet ***SOLD OUT!! SOLD OUT!! SOLD OUT!! ***
DESCRIPTION:FRIDAY AND SATURDAY SHOWTIMES: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. Nat Adderley\, Jr. hails from an amazing legacy of music. His father is trumpeter Nat Adderley\, brother and longtime bandmate to legendary jazz saxophonist Cannonball Adderley. Despite composing two of his uncle’s recordings and performing on one of them\, the 1970 title track\, “The Price You Got to Pay to Be Free\,’ Nat went on a different path that at first was completely non-musical. After graduating from Yale University with a degree in African American Studies\, Nat worked for a while in Houston\, but then the path of music chose him when he found he could make more money playing a two-hour daily piano gig than a desk job. \n\n\n\nAt that point\, old friend Luther Vandross came calling and recruited Nat as his music director\, pianist\, arranger and eventual composer and producer. Like his father\, Nat put most of his musical eggs into one basket\, yet far afield from the family jazz mine. It wasn’t until years later\, that Nat’s musical path finally forked into the jazz direction of his famous uncle and father. \n\n\n\nNow leading the Nat Adderley Quartet\, the talented Jersey jazzster will play on the 16th and 17th at Georgia’s #1 Jazz Club: The Velvet Note!
