Tierney Sutton and Kate McGarry

***************  A WORLDWIDE EXCLUSIVE  ******************

For the first time ever, these two award-winning jazz vocalists combine their immense talents on one jazz club stage at the same time, with their dual performances accompanied by the men who are the loves of their lives.  And the best thing–they are bringing this exclusive performance to their fans at The Velvet Note!

Kate McGarry is the Downbeat Critic’s Poll Rising Star Female Vocalist for 2016!  Tierney Sutton is a 7-time GRAMMY Award Nominee–one nomination for each project she has released in the last decade.  Both Kate and Tierney will perform with the men they love.  Let’s take a look:

Kate McGarry and Keith Ganz.  With 6 critically acclaimed CDs and a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal CD Kate McGarry has become recognized as a jazz artist who brings authenticity and vitality to every song regardlesskate-mcgarry-keith-ganz-150816 of genre. The Wall St. Journal calls her music, “Austere and elegant,” New York Times pronounced it, “astute and sensitive”.  She currently performs in jazz clubs, performing arts centers and festivals throughout the US and abroad. As an educator she has taught at New England Conservatory and currently serves on the faculty of Manhattan School of Music.  Kate currently lives in Durham North Carolina with husband/guitarist Keith Ganz. The couple celebrated 10 years of musical and life partnership with their first live duo recording, Genevieve and Ferdinand

Tierney Sutton and Serge Merlaud.   Tierney Sutton’s reputation as a singular vocal talent with a flair for inventive Tierney1arrangements is in full force on After Blue, her latest album. Referred to as her “Joni Mitchell Project,” After Blue re-ignited the legendary singer/songwriter’s most vibrant material, and Sutton’s subtle, ethereal sound is a natural match for Mitchell’s compositions. From Little Green to Big Yellow Taxi, and The Dry Cleaner from Des Moines to A
Free Man In Paris, Sutton’s vocal artistry is supported by her remarkable accompanists: cellist Mark Summer (Turtle Island String Quartet) and her partner, French guitarist Serge Merlaud.
