Gospel music has always been a part of Pamela Johnson’s life. Whether it was her father’s rich baritone voice or her mother’s sultry alto voice, there was always singing in the Johnson household. Though initially hesitant to take up the craft, once she began singing, Pamela found her voice and excelled.

Her acclaimed debut project, “Destiny Resurrected” reflects her jazzy gospel roots and taps into her sassy, funky soul and covers the many musical genres she loves to hear, sing and dance to. With her 4.5 octave mezzo soprano range, “Destiny Resurrected” has been well received and has garnered recognition by the Gospel Music Channel as a finalist in the 2010 Most Powerful Voices competition. Atlanta’s Gospel Choice Awards selected Pamela as a nominee for Best New Artist. She was chosen as a finalist for the CIWA Songwriters’ Contest. She was also a finalist in the PrayzeFactor Awards in the Praise and Worship category. Most notably, Pamela was a Gospel Blue Mic Achievement Awards nominee for Female Artist of the Year, Indie Artist of the Year, and Female Artist of the Year.

Today, her singing career continues to rise, as she is currently nominated as “Best New Artist” in Atlanta’s Gospel Choice Awards.  In this show at The Velvet Note, Pamela will expand her brand to include much of the music she truly loves, including her new wedding song, “Forever Loving You”.
